Privacy policy

Last updated: September 11, 2026

Skannon photographs an object and estimates its resale value. This page describes exactly what data is processed to deliver that service, by whom, and for how long.

1. Who is responsible

Clovis Bonnard, publisher of the Skannon app.
45500 Poilly-lez-Gien, France.
Contact: contact@skannon.com

2. What we process

The photos you scan

The photo is resized and compressed on your device, then sent to our estimation service, which passes it to Anthropic's artificial intelligence model to identify the object. Our estimation service does not keep the photo: it is handled in memory, for the duration of the request.

If you are signed in to an account, the photo and its estimate are saved to your inventory on our servers. Without an account, they never leave your device other than for the estimation request itself.

Your account, if you create one

Email address, an internal identifier, and where applicable the name passed on by Apple or Google when you sign in through them. No password is readable by us: authentication is delegated to our hosting provider.

Your subscription

Payment is handled entirely by Apple. No payment card data passes through the app, and we never have access to any. Through our subscription management provider we receive only an anonymous identifier, the subscription status, its renewal date, the account country and the device model.

On your device

The number of free scans used, your subscription status and, if you have no account, your scans. This information is erased if you uninstall the app.

How you move through the app

We keep a minimal usage log, on our own servers, to find out where the introductory journey loses people so we can fix it. Each entry holds the name of a step reached, the date, the app language, the platform and the version number, tied to a randomly generated installation identifier — a number holding nothing about your phone or about you, erased if you uninstall the app — and to your account identifier if you have one.

Your answers to the questions asked when you first open the app are never sent: they only adapt one screen, and they stay on your device. No IP address, no advertising identifier and nothing you typed appears in this log.

In the same log, we also record what each request sent to the model cost: the feature called (estimate, market comparison, listing), the number of photos sent, the volume of text processed and the matching amount. These entries exist only to check that the service stays sustainable and to spot abnormal use. They carry the same randomly generated installation identifier and, if you have an account, its identifier. They hold none of your photos, no description of the objects you scanned, and no IP address, and they are erased after twelve months like the rest of the log.

5. Where your data is stored

Your accounts, your inventories and your saved photos are hosted in the European Union, in Frankfurt — including for users outside Europe. Transfers out of the European Union are covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port and object to the processing of your data. You can exercise any of them at any time by writing to contact@skannon.com; we answer within one month.

You can delete your account and everything attached to it directly from the app, without writing to us.

If you live in California

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and why, to request its deletion, to request a copy of it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. The sections above answer the first question in full.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising — there is no opt-out link on this page because there is nothing to opt out of. To exercise any other right, write to contact@skannon.com; we answer within 45 days.

If you live in the European Union

If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in France, the CNIL, 3 place de Fontenoy, 75007 Paris, cnil.fr.

8. Children

Skannon is not intended for people under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.

9. Changes

This policy can change along with the app. The date at the top of the page marks the latest version. Any substantial change will be flagged to you in the app.
